Set Goals and Track Your Progress

Goals let you set what you are working toward and watch your progress build as you train. FitKeep tracks your activities against each goal automatically.

Pick what the goal is for

Every goal has a purpose:

  • Total distance: all your activities added up, such as 100 km by the end of the month, or 30 km every week. It repeats every week or month if you make it recurring.
  • Race: a distance on a set date, optionally within a target time.
  • Finish a distance: one run of that distance, such as your first half marathon, optionally by a date. “5 km in total” is a total distance; “run 5 km” is finishing a distance.
  • Improve a time: beat a target time at a standard distance, such as 5 km under 25:00.
  • Stay fit: keep training, with no end. It is never achieved, so it stays ongoing.

Create a goal

  1. Open the Goals page in FitKeep
  2. Select Create Goal
  3. Pick the purpose and fill in what it needs: a distance, a date, a target time, or for a total distance the activity types that count
  4. Check the start date and save

Start date

Progress counts from the goal’s start date. It is the day you create the goal, and you can set it earlier to count runs you have already done. For improve a time, FitKeep compares your best time since the start date with the target, and shows your all-time best next to it. So after a break you can aim for a time that is realistic now, not your best from a year ago.

How progress is tracked

For a total distance, FitKeep adds up the distance from every activity that matches your goal’s activity types and dates. For time-bound goals it also shows an expected pace line: where you should be today to finish on schedule, and whether you are ahead or behind.

A race is judged on your run on the race date, finishing a distance on your longest run since the start date, and improving a time on your best effort at the distance. A goal is Achieved once you reach it, or Missed when its date passes first.

Let the AI Coach draft a goal

If the AI Coach is on for your account, you can ask it to create, adjust, or archive a goal in plain English. It shows the change for you to review, and nothing happens until you confirm. See Chat with the AI Coach.

Where to view goals

  • The Goals page lists all active goals with their progress. If you train with a Training Plan, the goal it works toward comes first and links to the plan
  • The dashboard surfaces your goal progress alongside recent activity

Managing goals

  • Edit a goal at any time to adjust its name, target, or dates
  • Archive a goal you’ve finished with to hide it without losing its history. A goal a Training Plan worked toward can only be archived, not deleted
  • Restore an archived goal from the Goals page, or delete it permanently
